How much is a jump start in Dublin?
€120, one flat call-out price, and we do not add a charge for distance. You hear the figure on the phone before anyone sets off.
Can you jump start an electric or hybrid car?
Often, yes. These cars have a small 12V battery that wakes the car up, and that EV 12V battery is usually what has gone flat. Tell us the make, model and year first, because some cars have their own jump points.
What if the jump start does not work?
Then the battery is probably finished or the fault is somewhere else. We tell you what we found, and if a new battery is the answer we can talk about fitting one.
Do you do vans?
Most vans and light commercial vehicles, yes. Tell us what it is when you call.
Where do you come out to for a jump start?
Homes, workplaces, car parks and roadsides across Dublin, Meath and Wicklow. Read us an Eircode, or simply the name of your estate, and we can answer yes or no right there.
My car won't start and just clicks. Is it the battery?
Rapid clicking when you turn the key is the classic sign of a flat battery. A jump start usually gets the car going, and afterwards we tell you whether the battery looks worn out.
How do I pay?
By card over the phone, by a card payment link we send you, or in cash.
What should I tell you when I call?
The spot the car is parked in, the make and model, and the noise it makes on the key: a click, a slow churn, or silence.
How long should I drive after a jump start?
Around half an hour of steady driving puts some charge back. Lots of short stops will not.
Will it go flat again?
If it was a one-off, like a light left on, probably not. If it needs a jump again within a few days, the battery or the charging is the problem and it is worth having it looked at.
My car turns over but will not start. Can you help?
A jump start helps when the battery is too weak to turn the engine. If the engine turns at normal speed and does not catch, it is more likely fuel or another fault, and we will tell you that honestly before you pay for a call-out.
Is my car safe to jump on the side of the road?
Only if it is somewhere safe to stand. On a motorway or a fast road, get everyone out and behind the barrier first. If anyone is hurt, call 112.
